VP Vance's Remarks on Epstein and Israeli Intelligence Stir Controversy

By Marcus Ellison

Vice President J.D. Vance has drawn criticism after suggesting that Jeffrey Epstein had connections to the highest levels of both American and Israeli intelligence. Vance made these remarks during a July 15, 2026, appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, where he asserted Epstein's ties to elements of the Israeli deep state, without providing documentary evidence.

Vance's comments have troubled some members of his party, especially given the lack of corroborating evidence in the public domain. The Department of Justice released approximately 3.5 million documents related to Epstein in January 2026, none of which explicitly link him to intelligence services.

Israeli officials, including former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, have categorically denied any intelligence connections between Epstein and Mossad, labeling such claims as unfounded conspiracy theories. Vance himself acknowledged being labeled a conspiracy theorist by others, including White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

In a separate statement, Vance criticized the Trump administration for mishandling the release of the Epstein files, suggesting they should have been made public more swiftly, albeit with necessary redactions for victim privacy.
