SpaceX Stock Approaches IPO Price Amid Market Volatility

By Adrian Cole

SpaceX's stock is approaching its initial public offering (IPO) price of $135 per share, following a steep decline from its peak valuation. The company has lost over $800 billion in market value since reaching a high of $2.67 trillion shortly after its IPO in June 2026.

Initially priced at $135, SpaceX's shares opened at $150 on the Nasdaq, climbing to an intraday high of $176 before closing at $160.95, 19% above the IPO price. The stock's subsequent drop has seen it trade around $150, erasing significant early gains.

Despite the downturn, most analysts remain optimistic about SpaceX's prospects, with many maintaining a 'buy' recommendation and projecting the stock could rise above $200 within the next 12 to 18 months. However, some analysts express skepticism, estimating the company's fair value at less than half of its IPO valuation.

As SpaceX's stock fluctuates, investors are closely monitoring the situation, particularly as the shares have briefly dipped below the IPO-day open price of $150.
