Christopher Nolan's latest film, 'The Odyssey,' has achieved a remarkable global box office debut, earning $264.1 million over its opening weekend. The film's earnings include $124.5 million domestically and $139.6 million internationally, according to Variety.
The debut marks Nolan's largest opening since 'The Dark Knight Rises' in 2012. Despite its R-rating and nearly three-hour runtime, 'The Odyssey' has outperformed pre-release projections, which estimated a global opening around $200 million.
In the U.S., 'The Odyssey' ranks as the third-largest opening weekend of 2026, following 'Toy Story 5' and 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.' The film's strong performance is notable given its status as a standalone epic, not part of an established franchise.
