Airbnb announced on July 8, 2026, the launch of an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago. The experience, led by longtime festival producer Tim Sweetwood, will offer participants access to artist compounds, production zones, and other areas typically off-limits to the public.

The initiative is part of Airbnb's broader global live music partnership with Lollapalooza, which includes festivals in Berlin, São Paulo, and Mumbai. In addition to backstage access, guests will enjoy live performances at a dedicated Airbnb stage throughout the festival weekend.

Data from Airbnb indicates a strong demand for festival-related accommodations, with out-of-state traveler searches for Chicago Lollapalooza up nearly 20% compared to the previous year. Gen Z searches have increased by 15%. During Lollapalooza 2025, Chicago Airbnb hosts collectively earned over $6.4 million, highlighting the festival's economic impact on local hospitality.
